Would you hate a family member?

July 28, 2010

I have asked the same question in myLot.com and I am not surprised at all that a few had bothered to answer the question. You know how it is in paid-to-post sites, people will be hogging for your posts like hungry dogs fighting over a bone.

But I didn’t quite expect that someone would actually be saying the most sensible thing in a forum where every reply spells money that really got me to thinking.

July 21, 2010

The Eight-legged Oracle, Paul

My sudden interest in the 2010 World Cup did not spring from the competing teams of participating countries in the world.

But rather my curiosity was piqued by eight pinkish tentacles of Paul, dubbed the Octopus Oracle.

The Biodata.

Bieber -ish

There’s no doubt that Justin Bieber has huge things going for him. A blossoming  singing career, good looks, youth, mass adulation with mostly screaming tweens, product endorsements. You name it. The kid has it.

Not only does he appear to be the male counterpart of Britney Spears during which time fawning fans went gaga over her, but he seems bent on following Britney Spears’ staying virgin until meeting perfect someone. Pattie Mallette, Justin’s mother says, “He’s expressed his desire to stay pure and honor women, and treat women with respect. So hopefully that stays valid.” Britney did wait for the right guy, or so it was said.

On mobile phones and technology

July 20, 2010

Technology has really come a long way. From baroque gadgets of our ancients like bolos, arrows and other survival implements, man not only found ways to supplement his existence on earth, but has also contrived far more creative ideas to make his life easy.

Instant has been the staple word for the longest time and has been gaining world-wide popularity; like your instant noodles, instant messaging. Everybody wants to get things done immediately and everything seems to be just a click away or just a push of a button.

The advent of various multimedia features has created a raucous to both users and non-users. Both have their opinions about the recent development, citing how it both affected and improved their lives.

To some who are open to technological advancement embrace these tools as if their lives depended on it. These gadgets are considered life-saving tools for the geeks; which come particularly handy for households.

The mobile phone trends stir a world that is used to corded telephones at home and fixed lines in the office. The modern electronic device exceeds the consumers’ expectation as to utility.

To say that a mobile phone is ultra-convenient is an understatement. One can make phone calls anywhere, at a glance, at anytime of the day.

But development didn’t stop there. Research and Development teams of multinational companies are not contented.

They push their ingenuity to the limits, exceeding far beyond what man can do. They introduced the camera phone technology and once again the techie world is abuzz with this another, amazing technological advancement.

Software applications are incorporated into this new-found technology, not only making most of our lives convenient but also making it a fashionable necessity.

Suffice to say that these mobile phones are used to keep in touch with our loved ones, conduct business-even conduct business around the globe (yes, even on your pajamas!). Either for business or personal use, you have to admit that in these time and age, mobile phones and other technological gadgets have found a way to people.

Arguably though, these high-tech phones have come a long way and have brought far more advantages to the lives of the people than danger.

With a touch of a few buttons, the world is in business. The world may not be aware but these phones have become one of the basic needs of our lives, aiding people on the go, providing convenience to mobile lives around the globe.

July 15, 2010

The place of grandeur and history that is Rome. Come take a peek of an ancient civilization in Rome and be taken as far back as thousands of years of ruins of the Roman empire.

The modern city not only serves literary dishes in the likes of Horace, Ovid, Cato, Cicero, Varro and Julius Caesar, but it boasts of monuments, museums, buildings, florentine villas, basilicas and the best shopping places in the world.

From trendy shops to flea markets that are open from early mornings to the wee hours, a touring maverick can typically scour the whole city all day long for good finds from artifacts to the latest Vogue implements. Luxury boutiques and world-renowned coutures like Gucci, Valentino, Versace, Bulgari, Ferragamo, Armani, Battistoni, Ferre, Fendi, the notorious international brands of Hermes, Cartier, Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent and yes, your Louis Vittons are just a few brands of the rich and famous that abound the streets of Via del Corso and Via del Babuino, near the Spanish Plaza-Piazza di Spagna.

Hard on cash?

Don’t fret! Thrifty shops are spread near the Vatican on Via Cola di Rienzo and on Via Ottaviano. Local stores where you can find the cheapest yet fashionable items are sprouting like mushrooms in the well-paved district of Testaccio.

You can also savor some fruity experiences here because several fruit vendors are selling Roman fruits and vegetables at its finest at unbelievably, ultra-low prices.

There is also the Porta Portese flea market every Sunday. Dig in to the luscious assortments from bizarre Roman statuettes, shoes, tops, and just about everything that you need is within walking distance from one store to another.

A Preface on High-tech Notes

July 11, 2010

I have always been fascinated about writing. But words don’t always come easy on me.

I always struggle putting on my thoughts as they race one after the other inside my head, leaving myself inflicted with language paralysis.

But when I discovered blogging, I knew I was up for something really, really good.

According to Wikipedia, a blog is a type of website maintained by an individual or a group of people, carrying commentaries, description of events or other material such as graphics or video. In layman’s speak, it is our modern notes in high-tech form.

The term blog is also interchangeably used as a verb. To blog is to write. Unlike our dear old diary that we keep under the pillow, post entries or blog contents to your website are automatically publish online.

However, you have the option to select who may gain access to your website or password-protect your blog entries.

Now, these are just a few things that blog allows me to do. But for millions of people in the world who have been blogging for a long time, blogging can take you far more than that; earning money online. And blogging is just the tip of the iceberg of the endless earning possibilities one can have online.

For now, I relish the moment that I am able to write and edit my works with a Backspace or Delete button. I am still trying to control my thoughts without losing myself there, but I am taking each day with anticipation as I explore the world online.

This is a journey I’d like to keep. A history of adventure, life, drama and discovery. This is my time capsule, where it all starts, where it all ends.
