We may not be good writers, but in your own little ways, you can help promote a mutual benefit within the online community by providing a link to this site should you copy and paste the contents of this blog; or have the dignity to rewrite the ideas of the articles that you like posted within this blog site. If you opt to do neither, your page won't be indexed by search engines for reasons of duplicity. Much appreciation if you do. God bless!

Helpful Tips to Beat Down Writer’s Block

July 21, 2010

Can’t seem to crack any ideas from your head? You see, you’ve been staring at your computer screen, (or drumming that pen against your notepad) for what seemed like forever, waiting for that “aha!” moment to write your first post.

I can totally relate to the dilemma as writer’s block is always a patron. We employ all sorts of measures known to mankind, desperate ones to say the least, to fend off this demon.

For some artists they say, the amount of nicotine or caffeine or alcohol that they consume is directly proportional to the volume of work that they can turn in.

I know a bunch of people who needs to puff off a few sticks or guzzle up a bottle or a cup of coffee to become productive. They dub it their creative muse.

While these may work for some people in some instances, there are just that are hard to come by. So, I have scrounge up some helpful tips to ease down the agony.

1. First thing’s first. Know what you want to write about. To present your story in a fresh angle is a must.

2. Second. Know who your audience are. Make sure that your story will be of interest to them.

3. Once you know your topic, do some research or draw some first-hand experience.

4. Create a rough draft. Write your ideas as they flow from your mind. Don’t be conscious about grammar and all that stuff they teach you at school because you can revise later. Just let it flow nice and easy.

5. Edit. Now, this is where you can revise to make your story easy to read and attractive. Check for grammar, punctuation, capitalization, spelling, etc.
