I am not exactly non-sleeping, but I just have difficulty getting enough sleep. Non-beauty is the obligatory title for the musings of someone who was able to sleep for more than an hour today. I don’t know exactly how many hours, but I am sure it took more than an hour. It has been years since I had had a sleep like that. I am happy that finally since the last sleep in the day I took in 2007, I just had a really good one today. Yes! That is true. The last time I really slept soundly was back in 2007. How can I forget the ringing sound of my cellphone that snapped me out of my sedate state? The then-boyfriend husband called how was I doing. I knew I could have been sleeping longer too if it had not been for that call. That is why everytime I try to fall asleep, I turn my cellphone into silent mode. It felt dejavu because I was awaken by the same caller today with a ringing communication equipment. It was the telephone this time. The husband was checking how his stay-at-home wife was doing. In my groggy state, I croaked “I was just sleeping seconds ago.” Anyway, having slept gave me a rejuvenated feeling. I should have been sleeping longer than it took, but hey, I was able to sleep; and that is what really matters.

Lack of sleep disrupts the body’s normal functioning. We become unproductive in return feeling tired most of the day. You try to lie down and close your eyes, but you cannot fall asleep. The harder you try, the more you become awake. And then the cycle goes on and on until weird illnesses inflict your body such as obesity, gastroenterytis, hormonal imbalance, sinusitis and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. These usually hit an insomniac. According to the different studies I read in my attempt to cure insomnia, you should develop a steady schedule for sleeping. It simply means your body tends to follow a routine; a sleeping pattern. If your usual is sleeping late at night, you usually have a hard time sleeping earlier than your schedule. The body clock is very sensitive.
Sleep loss disrupts a complex and interwoven series of metabolic and hormonal processes and may be a contributing factor to obesity,” says John Winkelman, MD, PhD, medical director of the Sleep Health Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School
Without the need to say, sleeping early on time helps the body recover out of the day’s activity. Exercise is also a great stimulus to induce sleep. There are different techniques on how to fall asleep and their effectiveness depends individually. Reading a book may make you feel sleepy, but it will only make my mind sharper and awake for me. So, it really depends. You know your body and if there is someone who really knows what works and doesn’t work for you, it is you.

There are many skin care products out in the market today promising to make your skin look young and healthy. Some are expensive, heavily advertised and come in glossy packaging while others are cheap and have no fanfare. But how would you know which skin care products are best for you? You cannot just buy this facial cleanser because Angelina Jolie uses it, or Reese Witherspoon is the commercial model of this night creme and you want to smother your face up with the same cream every night. The success of finding skin care products that really work for you lies in how well you know your body. Knowing the ingredients of the product comes in second. Our skin is as unique as our being and may respond differently to each product. That is why there is a myriad of skin products to cater the different needs of each type of skin. There is a product or two out there that suit your need awaiting your discovery. Before you go on a trip to the drugstore and maul over a gargantuan display of lotions and creams, there is a need for you to know what type of skin you have. Do you have oily skin? Or the chapped, flaky type? Determining your skin type helps you choose the right product based on the needs of your skin and not out from the hype that a product commercial brings.

The five basic types of skin:
Normal Skin-The amount of oil and dryness is balanced, thus the right moisture in the skin is achieved.
Dry Skin-It is chapped and feels rough when you touch it.
Oily Skin- Oil is visible not only on T-zone but also on cheeks in excesses.
Combination Skin-Oil is only visible on the T-zone (nose, forehead and chin).
Sensitive Skin-It is delicate and usually rejects application of products by showing redness or botch.
To test the oiliness of your skin, use a blotting paper or paper oil sheets. That is also available in the market now.
I feel guilty for I have not been able to shower attention to the husband the way I used to. I have been too preoccupied at blogging and reading other blog posts hoping to find helpful tips to improve my online presence and earnings online.
It is only this year that I have concentrated so much about writing more posts. I am really taking it seriously this time because I am press for time and money. When I get to finally work this week, I know it will be double the effort to write. I really enjoy the routine; writing articles, reading other blogs for tips and ideas and learning new things, so I know I will always have time for these. Plus, I am motivated. I know it will be a great destresser for me being able to write and self-publish.
I have learned what I have to learn and I have no regrets even if it cost me a lot; time, money and effort. It was worth it. And I know my story doesn’t end here. I have just begun my journey online.
For beginners, earning money online can be a bit overwhelming; not to mention confusing. The geeky digital terms and all that are enough to send one neophyte running and swearing not ever again to be involved in any virtual business. But for those really serious ones out there who are willing to walk through the fires of hell just to earn your first dollar, or get your website to the next level, here are a few things you should know:
1. Making money online is not for the faint of heart. Why? You will be subjected to the greedy motives of online opportunists who will feed the illusions of your gullible heart. Online scammers! Equivalent to your loan sharks in the real world. The best that you do is to steer clear from these quick-rich schemes and go for the road less traveled. Work your way up by doing your homework. Use Google to look for blogs that offer money-making tips in the virtual world, but without you having to purchase anything. Remember, you are just starting up and your interest to make money online might get in the way because you are gullible at this stage, so do yourself a favor.

3. Testing the cyber waters. Before you can do your own thing, learn first the basics. Read as many blogs as you can, the one that offers blogging tips, earning money online tips, search engine optimization tips and a whole lot more of tips. All you need is the right keywords in Google to get to these knowledge.
If you are really serious about making money online, then you must have enormous amount of patience because I tell you a lot of times you will get frustrated, feel like you are groping in the dark and nobody seems to care if you will get mugged. Here is some brutal truth. Some people are only too happy to tell you or help you how to make money online if you purchase a product or service from them or increase their income. Sad but that is the way it is and I can understand that because it is competition. We may help others from time to time, but you are not going to get the information for free buddy because either they bet their life for it to have these knowledge, paid for it or spent bleeding nights and days to learn the ins and outs of the business; and what are you some lucky guy that you are going to get it for free or that easily? I am pretty sure it is going to be, No way, Jose.

In a parallel universe, there are also people who are successful in their internet endeavors that they want to give back to the community. An example of this charity-like tactic are internet gurus who put websites or blogs that are offering tips and blogging hacks that such neophyte like me can take advantage of. And the vested interest? The more readers hogging for these tips and advices from these authorities, the more traffic their blog gets; and that spells more money for them. But whatever motives there are, it is a win-win situation for the one looking for some information and for the one offering the information because you learn something that you could use in your money-making efforts online and they earn money along the way without you buying anything from them. You paid for the information in a way by merely visiting their site. You both profit from such system.
4. Like any other business, running an online business needs updated skills and knowledge in their manpower. You need to build rapport among online users and online colleagues by participating online outreach programs such as exchanging links, featuring worthy sites and relevant ideas and citing your sources. Think about how these writers and authors spent so much time researching for their topic and you just copy their work without their consent? I am sure their diligence in writing a piece credits them more than a footnote. So, as I was saying, there is a community online and you have a duty to promote for the good of this community and not just your own.
If these things I just told you didn’t make you swoon, but made your desire only stronger to engage in such a business, then by all means help yourself and start earning money online:)

It has been quite awhile since I last updated this blog. I intend this blog to chronicle my technological advancement (a tech dummy that I am) and progress in making money online. I have been doing a lot of research and keyword search lately, read other blogs hoping to find tips on how they do stuff.
I realize that mostly everything I need to know is within Google. It took me this long to realize that. It took me several sleepless nights trying to figure out how those ads are positioned, how those templates are made, how a web traffic is made and how to optimize search engine using keywords. I still don’t know how to make my own templates, but that is another goal I’d like to make in the near future. I want to design my own templates and hopefully, like a few in the online community who share their knowledge to neophytes, I’d be able to give back too. This blog like all other blogs of mine is always a work-in-progress. I am a work-in-progress. My learning will always be.
For people who are interested to try out making money online, try to look around in the virtual world. And maybe, just maybe, you get most of what you need with a few, well-thought keywords.
It has been raining for weeks now. The sky is gray, but unlike the sky pouring itself out heavily on earth in big buckets of raindrops, my day is far from gray. In fact, the perpetual rainshowers brought me joy. While other people grumble about the puddle of mud on the road, the bumper-to-bumper traffic caused by the downpour and the inconvenience of the damp weather, I, a certified sun loather, have several reasons to celebrate this raining months of year:

1. The uber high temperature in my room is finally tempered by the cold moisture brought by the rain outside; which means I can finally sleep without being washed up in a pool of sweat. The room is poorly designed (but well built) to allow passage and even distribution of air. The economic means of this writer only permit two stand-fans and an exhaust fan.
2. I have a valid excuse to not meet friends and finish my reading. You know, the I-can’t-go-out-today-the-road-is-too-slippery and your friends will say, “You don’t even drive a car.” I so love to curl up in bed all day with a good book.
3. Coffee tastes even better during rainy days. I remember this commercial on TV before where this female in an off-shoulder blouse was sipping coffee by the window, watching the rains hit the ground through the window sill. How nostalgic is that?
4. Rain is beautiful. No. It’s poetry. The sound of the raindrops on the roof is the rhythm of my soul and it inspires me to write more.
5. Rains bring forth calm to a restless warrior and drowsiness to a chronic insomniac like me.
I have asked the same question in myLot.com and I am not surprised at all that a few had bothered to answer the question. You know how it is in paid-to-post sites, people will be hogging for your posts like hungry dogs fighting over a bone.
But I didn’t quite expect that someone would actually be saying the most sensible thing in a forum where every reply spells money that really got me to thinking. The friend was right ( though we were not properly introduced in the virtual world, I take she is a new-found friend) about that there are things we don’t like about our family and that we should find a way to reconnect to that person (the family member we hate). To do just that is the right thing to do and I know I should do it. Only that I don’t feel like reaching out first when I am ill-stricken with the belief that I was the one who had been wronged. Isn’t that torture? Phoning your transgressor, saying you are sorry for what happened and what would that get you? The wrongdoer will all the more think highly and mightily about himself. There would be no remorse, humility and realization on his part; only contempt.
There is not an issue of inability to forgive. The point is how could forgiveness flourish in the absense of apology through both words and in deeds. When love and hate collides, you become entangled in your own personal hell.
Can’t seem to crack any ideas from your head? You see, you’ve been staring at your computer screen, (or drumming that pen against your notepad) for what seemed like forever, waiting for that “aha!” moment to write your first post.

I can totally relate to the dilemma as writer’s block is always a patron. We employ all sorts of measures known to mankind, desperate ones to say the least, to fend off this demon. For some artists they say, the amount of nicotine or caffeine or alcohol that they consume is directly proportional to the volume of work that they can turn in. I know a bunch of people who needs to puff off a few sticks or guzzle up a bottle or a cup of coffee to become productive. They dub it their creative muse. While these may work for some people in some instances, there are just that are hard to come by. So, I have scrounge up some helpful tips to ease down the agony.
1. First thing’s first. Know what you want to write about. To present your story in a fresh angle is a must.
2. Second. Know who your audience are. Make sure that your story will be of interest to them.
3. Once you know your topic, do some research or draw some first-hand experience.
4. Create a rough draft. Write your ideas as they flow from your mind. Don’t be conscious about grammar and all that stuff they teach you at school because you can revise later. Just let it flow nice and easy.
5. Edit. Now, this is where you can revise to make your story easy to read and attractive. Check for grammar, punctuation, capitalization, spelling, etc.
My sudden interest in the 2010 World Cup did not spring from the competing teams of participating countries in the world. But rather my curiosity was piqued by eight pinkish tentacles of Paul, dubbed the Octopus Oracle.
The Biodata. Hatched from an egg on January 2008 at Sea Life Centre in Weymouth Dorset England, Paul clutches the world’s attention on its eight tentacles with eight major successful predictions for the 2010 World Cup; the victory of Spain over Netherlands being the recent of his prognostication. He was named from the title of a poem by the German children’s writer Boy Lornsen: Der Tintenfisch Paul Oktopus.
The invertebrate was seen to possess psychic prowess during the UEFA Euro 2008 tournament. From then on, he was accurately predicting winners of each of the seven 2010 FIFA World Cup matches that the German team played, against Australia, Serbia, Ghana, England, Argentina, Spain and Uruguay. The divination process is to present Paul with two clear plastic boxes, each containing food usually a mussel or an oyster. Each container is marked with the flag of a team. The box that Paul will open first is the predicted winner of the game.
The celebrated eight-legged oracle is expected to die before the UEFA Euro 2012 as octopuses are likely to live on an average of no more than two years. “The intuitive invertebrate will “step back from the official oracle business,” Tanja Munzig, a spokeswoman for the Sea Life aquarium in Oberhausen, told AP Television News.
“He won’t give any more oracle predictions — either in football, nor in politics, lifestyle or economy,” she said. “Paul will get back to his former job, namely making children laugh.”
On July 12, 2010, Paul was officially retired. For all you calamari patrons, save the gastronomical wish for Paul because Spain vowed to protect the luckiest octopus in the tank!
There’s no doubt that Justin Bieber has huge things going for him. A blossoming singing career, good looks, youth, mass adulation with mostly screaming tweens, product endorsements. You name it. The kid has it.
Not only does he appear to be the male counterpart of Britney Spears during which time fawning fans went gaga over her, but he seems bent on following Britney Spears’ staying virgin until meeting perfect someone. Pattie Mallette, Justin’s mother says, “He’s expressed his desire to stay pure and honor women, and treat women with respect. So hopefully that stays valid.” Britney did wait for the right guy, or so it was said.
I admire the kid for the desire to keep things special. It’s the thought that counts. He may have scored cute points to every major Britney fan out there for that, but he just knocked off any chance of working with Mariah Carey when he said,
“I don’t love her new music, it’s not the same [as her old stuff]. It’s like Michael Jordan coming back out to play in the NBA. She is past her best.”
Wow! Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey must be heartbroken. No Justin. Mariah has accomplished so much in the industry. Just like any other people in the world borne ahead of you, she’s had her fall, her fair share of life’s hardships and she has proven her tenacity not to give up on life. Man is not always on his top. We have our days and you too. We may get past the zenith of our success, but I think respect of one’s accomplishments can really get us a long way in life.
Technology has really come a long way. From baroque gadgets of our ancients like bolos, arrows and other survival implements, man not only found ways to supplement his existence on earth, but has also contrived far more creative ideas to make his life easy.
Instant has been the staple word for the longest time and has been gaining world-wide popularity; like your instant noodles, instant messaging. Everybody wants to get things done immediately and everything seems to be just a click away or just a push of a button.
The advent of various multimedia features has created a raucous to both users and non-users. Both have their opinions about the recent development, citing how it both affected and improved their lives. To some who are open to technological advancement embrace these tools as if their lives depended on it. These gadgets are considered life-saving tools for the geeks; which come particularly handy for households. The mobile phone trends stir a world that is used to corded telephones at home and fixed lines in the office. The modern electronic device exceeds the consumers’ expectation as to utility. To say that a mobile phone is ultra-convenient is an understatement. One can make phone calls anywhere, at a glance, at anytime of the day.
But development didn’t stop there. Research and Development teams of multinational companies are not contented. They push their ingenuity to the limits, exceeding far beyond what man can do. They introduced the camera phone technology and once again the techie world is abuzz with this another, amazing technological advancement. Software applications are incorporated into this new-found technology, not only making most of our lives convenient but also making it a fashionable necessity.
Suffice to say that these mobile phones are used to keep in touch with our loved ones, conduct business-even conduct business around the globe (yes, even on your pajamas!). Either for business or personal use, you have to admit that in these time and age, mobile phones and other technological gadgets have found a way to people. Arguably though, these high-tech phones have come a long way and have brought far more advantages to the lives of the people than danger. With a touch of a few buttons, the world is in business. The world may not be aware but these phones have become one of the basic needs of our lives, aiding people on the go, providing convenience to mobile lives around the globe.
The place of grandeur and history that is Rome. Come take a peek of an ancient civilization in Rome and be taken as far back as thousands of years of ruins of the Roman empire. The modern city not only serves literary dishes in the likes of Horace, Ovid, Cato, Cicero, Varro and Julius Caesar, but it boasts of monuments, museums, buildings, florentine villas, basilicas and the best shopping places in the world.
From trendy shops to flea markets that are open from early mornings to the wee hours, a touring maverick can typically scour the whole city all day long for good finds from artifacts to the latest Vogue implements. Luxury boutiques and world-ren
owned coutures like Gucci, Valentino, Versace, Bulgari, Ferragamo, Armani, Battistoni, Ferre, Fendi, the notorious international brands of Hermes, Cartier, Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent and yes, your Louis Vittons are just a few brands of the rich and famous that abound the streets of Via del Corso and Via del Babuino, near the Spanish Plaza-Piazza di Spagna.
Hard on cash? Don’t fret! Thrifty shops are spread near the Vatican on Via Cola di Rienzo and on Via Ottaviano. Local stores where you can find the cheapest yet fashionable items are sprouting like mushrooms in the well-paved district of Testaccio. You can also savor some fruity experiences here because several fruit vendors are selling Roman fruits and vegetables at its finest at unbelievably, ultra-low prices.
There is also the Porta Portese flea market every Sunday. Dig in to the luscious assortments from bizarre Roman statuettes, shoes, tops, and just about everything that you need is within walking distance from one store to another. So, what are you waiting for? Book now to Rome!
I have always b
een fascinated about writing. But words don’t always come easy on me. I always struggle putting on my thoughts as they race one after the other inside my head, leaving myself inflicted with language paralysis. But when I discovered blogging, I knew I was up for something really, really good. According to Wikipedia, a blog is a type of website maintained by an individual or a group of people, carrying commentaries, description of events or other material such as graphics or video. In layman’s speak, it is our modern notes in high-tech form.
The term blog is also interchangeably used as a verb. To blog is to write. Unlike our dear old diary that we keep under the pillow, post entries or blog contents to your website are automatically publish online. However, you have the option to select who may gain access to your website or password-protect your blog entries. Now, these are just a few things that blog allows me to do. But for millions of people in the world who have been blogging for a long time, blogging can take you far more than that; earning money online. And blogging is just the tip of the iceberg of the endless earning possibilities one can have online.
For now, I relish the moment that I am able to write and edit my works with a Backspace or Delete button. I am still trying to control my thoughts without losing myself there, but I am taking each day with anticipation as I explore the world online. And this is a journey I’d like to keep. A history of adventure, life, drama and discovery. This is my time capsule, where it all starts, where it all ends.

With recession crunching away nearly half of the world’s economy, downsizing, resizing have been the staple words for the time being. Newspaper and TV continuously report a number of workers retrenched from their jobs, stores closing down and mortgages unpaid resulting to foreclosures and homelessness. Ultra-high discounts, no longer on selected items( in which they used to be on defective items) and inventory sale are no longer synonymous to we-would-give-back-to-the-community, but are tell-tale signs of…a worldwide economic downturn.
Hardships may stay overtime, but people don’t grieve over it too long. Yes, we may have cried, mourned over the loss of a job or a source of income, but man survives and is flexible. Whether we we like or not, we do something about the situation. Sometimes, purely out of no choice. We may not be aware of it, but we incidentally respond to the way our environment is going; pushing our creativity and ingenuity. Much like the initiative of the idea behind resizing pictures online. People respond for how the situation calls for it according to how they see it. We shrink, expand back and forth to the call of times. We resize.
Don’t you wanna dance? I am giddy that I no longer have to wait for a blog approval for Payperpost. I stumbled upon the site three years ago, one fine boring workday.
I worked as an Editor for an international research company for almost four years. As part of the job (and an envied privilege at that to some who were not given access to the worldwideweb in the office), I was able to get hold a plethora of endless possibilities. Of course, my regular site was m-w.com. A fitting mean to refill the insufficiency of my vocabulary reservoir.
I entered my first keyword and google presented a whole gamut of related and nonrelated searches (including non-related work, lol). How searches like blog, blogger.com and making money online came up with the search, I had no idea. But I know it was the start of my journey in the virtual world.
Payperpost made the portal to my introduction of making moneyonline. To be able to join Payperpost, you have to have a blog. And I was like, what? So, I googled blog and there was Blogger.com, Wordpress.com and a whole other blog platforms that both provided bewilderment and excitement to the novice Me.
I hurriedly created my first blog. It was disastrous, not to mention horrendous-looking. To cut the story short, my blog didn’t get approved by Payperpost. There were so many reasons ranging from lack of traffic to less than the required age of the blog. My first rejection in the virtual world.
I took a blogging hiatus for a long time because I felt lost in the virtual world, but I couldn’t totally get away from it. The online world is beckoning me to come back with inspiring stories of how people made it online and the newfound websites that I could learn from-including an unexpected email from Payperpost. I think I had 4 to 5 emails from them, asking me if I am still interested in Payperpost. The first email notification is dated Dec. 9, 2009, but I think I have had earlier dates that I must have deleted.
When I first saw the email, I was passive because I thought it would still be difficult for me to join. I didn’t even bother opening it. Not until today when I became curious and was cleaning up my Inbox-I receive a lot of email notifications from money-making programs, internet marketing programs and bookmarked websites that I could learn from.
Oh boy, was I happy to read that blogs do not go through an approval process anymore. On top of that, there are no minimum eligibility requirements. Your blog is eligible to receive offers as soon as it is submitted. You had me at hello, Payperpost! The restrained dawn strains behind the crowd.
Now, I am rebuilding this blog in the hopes of getting paid opportunities. Not only for Payperpost, but to whoever needs my services.
